“Without Jill I would not have been able to breastfeed! Due to my son’s very slow weight gain in the early weeks/months my ability to breastfeed was constantly under criticism from not just unsupportive members of family but also health professionals, doctors and health visitors, who continuously suggested I should switch to formula or at least ‘top up’ in order for my son to match the percentile chart. In a constant state of panic and guilt and worry as I really wanted to breastfeed my son but was starting to believe that I just wasn’t good at it, Jill was there for me through it all offering support, advice and fantastic knowledge, always listening to my concerns and reassuring me of my ability. I truly couldn’t have done it without her! She was my rock throughout! My son is 1 now and we are still happily nursing and showing no signs of stopping. He is still small but that is just the way he is.
Thank you Jill for helping us achieve this precious connection. ”

“I found the first couple of months after my boy was born very tough, particularly struggling with the feeding. After a few visits Jill not only had resolved all of the feeding problems, but had me feeling that I was the best mum in the world! Without Jill I think I would have given up on the breastfeeding, but thanks to her visits I quickly started to enjoy the feeding and found it a very special bonding experience with my son.”

“At a time that I was feeling particularly fragile, Jill instilled in me the confidence and belief that I was doing a good job. I so wanted breastfeeding to be successful for us and she sat with me on more than one occasion and with no time limit and just talked me through it and I felt so much better afterwards.
Breastfeeding is a fantastic way of bonding with your baby and really giving them the best start in life. If you truly believe this, then when or if at times it gets tough, Jill is a great person to turn to.”

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for the help with breastfeeding last week (or was it the week before??). It started to be bearable after you had visited and now it is just great!
(7 months later) I just wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that J is 7 months today and is still being breastfed thanks to you and a couple of others. The work you do is so valuable and has certainly made a big difference to J and I. He is a big strong boy due to his ‘mummy milk’ (and I am constantly hungry!). Thanks again and keep helping new mums with your knowledge and experience!”

“Success!! Felt completely different going to bed last night- no longer fearful of what was to come! Am so relieved that I’ve got some different options now. As my mum has just commented, you are worth your weight in gold! Thank you so much for coming out so promptly.”

“I just wanted to let you know C and I have made it to the magic 6 months of breastfeeding and are still going strong! We have been feeding in all sorts of places including restaurants, shops and cafés! I really appreciate all the help and support you gave me, I would never have got this far without you. I am always telling people about you and how much you helped me. I will be forever grateful to you.
C is doing really well. She is such a smiley happy little thing. She has a nice long feed before bed and sleeps for 11hrs solid. Something changed in her once we cracked the breastfeeding thing, she seemed to settle and become so much more content and I owe that to you. Thank you so much for your support”

“I initially started breastfeeding without any problems but by the time my baby’s first growth spurt had finished, my ravaged nipples were cracked and sore and we’d got into bad latching habits. Jill immediately came to see us and her expertise and wisdom were obvious as soon as she walked through the door. Jill’s relaxed and non-judgemental attitude allowed me to open up about my issues and in turn she gave sound explanations - teaching me new positions to breastfeed - the laying down position saved my sleep deprived mind on many occasions.
Jill’s relaxed, kind, compassionate and understanding attitude quickly helped me to regain my confidence, encouraging me to persevere. I was particularly impressed by her ability to support her suggestions using research or science, allowing me to better understand my baby’s needs, behaviours and also his abilities.
My son is now two months old and is breastfeeding beautifully. Without Jill’s support I am not sure we would have overcome those initial hurdles. I am so grateful for Jill’s support because she is allowing me to achieve my goal of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. What better gift is there for my son?
